Ramadan's "In the Footsteps of the Prophet: Lessons from the Life of Muhammad," and "Islam, the West, and the Challenge of Modernity," are both worth reading and studying. Zizek, well, he's an acquired taste. Oh, and, look at the grin on Tariq's face when Zizek is ranting! He cracks me up. They are so different, Ramadan is a Oxford scholar raised in Switzerland writing about Islam and Nietzsche (and his grandfather founded the 'Muslim brotherhood' to boot); Zizek is a Lacanian Marxist raised in communist eastern Europe criticizing capitalism and Christianity (though lately he's been enhancing his critique and wrote some interesting stuff on Saint Paul and a book on Christ with theologian John Millbank of all people!Daniel Imburgiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04011159253204822220noreply@blogger.com
